Martin Zinaich is the Information Assurance Officer for the
City of Tampa’s
Technology and Innovation department.
Before joining the City of Tampa, Martin spent 15 years in the private
sector, first as a Research and Development engineer designing discreet RF and
digital circuits, then as the Technical Manager of a three shift cable
broadband repair facility. As Technical
Manager, Martin’s responsibilities included head-end installation and
maintenance, video encryption and decryption technologies and Quality Assurance
procedures. At one point Martin served
as both the Technical Manager and Operations Manager, sustaining billing and
production levels. Since joining the
City, Martin has installed the City’s first directory service, LDAP, web, DNS,
email, desktop management and vulnerability assessment services, instituted a
PCI program, developed a comprehensive Security Charter, instituted end-user
awareness education and briefed top management on Information Technology
Business Risk. He has written articles
published in Popular Communications, Network WorldNovell Research AppNotes. He
holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Associate of Science in
Electronics Technology, is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional
(CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Secure
Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP), Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH), Certified
Novell Engineer (CNE), Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) and a Toastmasters
Competent Communicator (CC). and
